Big News: SBI returns Rs 6 lakh to Ram Janmabhoomi Trust Due to Cheque Fraud

As of August, the trust had received a donation of about 30 Cores through online transfers to its two bank accounts.

State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday returned 6 Lakhs to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Shrine Trust in the form of two cloned checks earlier this month for fraudulent withdrawals from the trust bank account. The trust operates two bank accounts from SBI's headquarters in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

On Monday, on his official Twitter glove, he said, 'Rs. "Trust SBI. We thank SBI management for their prompt action."

Trust general secretary Champat Rai also confirmed the refund.

"The SBI trust has returned to the 6R trust which had withdrawn the fraud from the trust bank account," said Champat Rai.

On September 1, a fraudster transferred 2.5 loops from an SBI Trust account in Ayodhya through two clone checks and forged signatures on a Punjab National Bank account and on September 8, another loop 3.5. Lucknow.

When the scam came to light, Rai received a verification call from SBI on September 9 announcing another check of Rs 9.86. Rai, who is in Ayodhya, verified that the check with the bank's quoted number is still in the book of the trust check. By then, two more cloned checks had already been used to defraud the trust.
